My Entrepreneurial Path
More about me
I have been in business for myself since I was able to work, generating my first jobs by shovelling neighbours drive-ways in grade school. I am a perpetual entrepreneur who has tried his hand in many types of organizations and has called entrepreneurship his home.
I have made my businesses my main source of income since 1997 when I registered my first partnership Dynamic Development in Leadership (D.D.L.) working in the field of event management and leadership development of postsecondary student leaders. I then transitioned to an Ottawa-based events and communications Nadeau, Beaulieu & Associé.e.s where I led initiatives locally, provincially and nationally. During my time with the company, I helped grow N.B.A. from a staff of 15 to 75 employees, at which point I left seeking new challenges and management opportunities.
I then tried my hand at the federal government, helping to develop the Asian market for Canadian agricultural products and the maintenance of Citizenship And Immigration’s new global information system. I finished my short career with the Government of Canada working in the secretariats that coordinated the government’s involvement in major sporting events hosted in Canada: Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games. There, I delivered key high-profile events, led outreach initiatives, maintained relationships with key partners such as the capital cities & the Provinces and helped establish the internal communication approach for the department.
Since my departure from government, I returned to the lifestyle that is for me: entrepreneurship. I have been involved in a couple of businesses and initiatives including creating a fair & win-win approach to Rent-To-Owns for Canadians, discovering the fastest growing method of being self-employed as an independent consultant for a network marketing company (or also known as MLM or multi-level marketing), creating the concept for an indoor putting centre for golf enthusiasts and helping entrepreneurs achieve success.
I have acquired a large array of skills and competencies and consider myself more of a strong generalist than a single Subject Matter Expert. I have led all aspects of asset and project management, from initial conception, to idea development, implementation, marketing, building teams, project delivery and post-project evaluation. I can help entrepreneurs and businesses with training, primary research, sales, marketing, recruitment, customer service, partnerships, service delivery, logistics, cash flow & financial management and evaluations.
My attention to detail and listening skills allow me to consciously work with each entrepreneur’s realities and capabilities. It is my objective to help you reach the next level in your management and entrepreneur. I will not only focus on what your business needs to achieve but I will also bring in what you need to do to achieve professional and personal success.
I have been working with Invest Ottawa (IO) since 2014 as a Business Advisor for their clients, meeting over 8 new businesses or aspiring businesses a week for one-on-one consultations. I am also the Entrepreneur-In-Residence for Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur since 2015, offering workshops and support to transitioning military across the country.
I enjoy sharing my experiences, my knowledge and my passion for entrepreneurship with everyone I meet.
